Archaeology professors don’t often find themselves
facing constant danger, fighting international
villains, and saving the fate of the world. But then
again, Indiana Jones, or Dr. Henry Walton Jones, Jr
is no ordinary professor. For moviegoers all over
the world, Indiana Jones is the single most daring
and adventurous character in history. The three
Indiana Jones films made in the 1980s redefined
action/adventure and gave audiences new thrills. And
it’s a safe bet to say that those thrills will be
manifold when the fourth Indiana Jones film, Indiana
Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, come out
on May 22, 2008.
In the
first Indiana Jones
film The Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy
faces powerful resistance from the evil Nazis in his
quest to save the sacred Ark of Covenant. After a
riveting series of events that takes him to places
like Cairo, Nepal, England, and Berlin Jones finally
succeeds in defeating the Nazis and securing the
Ark.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a prequel
that goes back a year in the life of Jones.
Traversing the mystical lands of India along with
his two acquaintances Willie Scott and Short Round,
Jones faces tougher, more sinister opposition from
the demonic priest, Mola Ram. Jones’s quest for the
powerful Sankara stones comes to a climax in a
tremendous fight scene with Mola Ram on the
terrifying bridge over the river of crocodiles.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Jones begins
with a personal mission to find his missing father,
Professor Henry Jones, played by Sean Connery. Soon,
the father-son duo goes in search of the priceless
Holy Grail that is being targeted for evil purposes
by the villainous Nazis. Together, they make sure
the Nazis are outsmarted.
The
Indiana Jones Crystal Skull adventure, its full plot
still unrevealed, will see Indy indulging in
tougher, bolder, more dangerous escapades and still
come out on top like only he can.
